Travel Inspired Bespoke Wedding Stationery

I have always loved travel and adventure, and I have touched every continent now, except for Antarctica. Perhaps this desire comes from growing up on a small Caribbean island and having the urge to explore the big wide world? On my travels, I am definitely drawn to stunning natural beauty spots in the Tropics, the Mountains and by the Ocean. Some cities, cute villages and ancient landmarks have also been a big draw too.

So, it is no coincidence that I jumped at the opportunity to be involved in a dreamy Moroccan styled shoot collaboration in April 2018. I was approached by the lovely and talented photographer Doris Himmelbauer from Vienna. She had a killer brief for ‘The River is Everywhere’ shoot, which captures the exotic and glamorous, with the contrasting raw intrepid setting that Morocco has to offer, combined with distinctive modern cuts.

Opulent Moroccan details, extravagant colours, bustling exotic souks, modern bespoke wedding stationery, contrasted by earth-toned terraces and dramatic desert dunes – this shoot had it all! Not to mention THE exceptionally glamorous gowns by Viennese Bridal designer Eva Poleschinski. In her interview with “Attire Bridal Magazine”, Doris Himmelbauer described the shoot as: “French Orientalist – elegant, fashion forward, brave and yet traditional”.

The bespoke stationery prepared for this shoot drew heavily on inspiration from the destination itself, incorporating a traditional Moroccan lantern-shaped centre panel and pattern, overlaid onto a marbled background of earthy colours – an actual aerial view of a Moroccan desert-scape! I wanted the stationery to authentically reflect the Moroccan vibe, scenery and traditions, but in a modern way. I like to think that I achieved the balance with this design!
