Dusty Blue and Blush Wedding Colour Palette

Coined by the phrase “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”, blue is still a popular choice for weddings. The strong contrasting, yet complementary Blush and Navy tones has certainly been a popular combination (think Jack Wills stripes). However I am drawn to the more dusty blue shades too, which work really well with blush tones. It’s a softer, more subtle dreamy colour blue, which makes a beautiful colour palette for both Summer and Winter weddings. It was this same colour palette that formed the inspiration for the Wellingtonia Styled Shoot at Minley Manor on the Hampshire/ Surrey border. This shoot featured Minley Manor’s beautiful Orangery, an outdoor ceremony at the foot of the Wellingtonia Avenue of trees and with the backdrop of the stunning French Chateau style architecture of the Manor House.
Blue and blush floral wedding stationery
Inky and navy blue and blush florals, combined with soft greenery and gold highlights feature in the modern Flora Bleu wedding stationery suite. A loose handwritten and serif font combination used throughout the suite keep it looking elegant, and yet relaxed.
Dusty blue and blush table decor inspiration
This stunning tablescape features dusty blue, blush and touches of soft peach and silver. The dusty blue, textured cheesecloth and silver organza runners create simple detailing to the centre of the white washed wooden trestle table, which flows to the floor. A ghost pedestal of soft flowing florals and foliage created the majestic focal point for the table centre. Below, vintage glass candlesticks and variety of glass tea light holders filled the table. The tableware was kept simple, with plain white china plates on silvered glass chargers, silver cutlery and plain glass wine glasses. The table stationery reflected the dusty blue and blush floral theme, with a simple Table Number card placed on a small wooden easel. Each place setting also had a beautiful matching tea length floral menu with a personalised guest name tag secured together by a simple silver wax seal. The table setting was perfectly finished with the understatedly elegant light wood cross back chairs with a rattan seat.
Welcome Sign and Table Plan Ideas
The same blue and blush floral design that featured on the table stationery, was also used on the wedding welcome signage and the table plan. Individual cards were attached to a circular mesh frame to present both types of signage.
Bridal Inspiration
The backdrop for this stunning shoot was Minley Manor itself and the beautiful avenue of Wellingtonia trees. Our beautiful bride wore a stunning Lolabrigida gown by Pronovias, with a sculpted lace bodice with a deep V-front and an illusion back. The gorgeous full organza skirt features asymmetric tiers and our groom wore a Vivaldi Pro London Grey Check Lounge Suit.
The Insta-worthy gold sequin wall made an eye-catching backdrop for all those party pictures too!
Wedding Cake & Sweet Table Inspiration
The Cake and sweet table reflected the main table beautifully, with the dusty blue cheesecloth runner. A combination of silver and mirrored platters were used to display the iced cupcakes, biscuits and white geometric heart-shaped chocolates. The centre piece was a plain white 4-tiered cake which was simply decorated with an elegant damask textured detailing and finished with sugar flower work and a blush silk ribbon and bow.
