Johanna Pedrick Flowers Tips on Booking a Florist for your Big Day

Surrey wedding florist Johanna Pedrick Flowers and I have a lot in common. We both grew up on an island and have made Surrey our home. We also have a great love of the outdoors and, of course, flowers. Over the past few years we’ve bonded over coffee and cake, and have had many chats about weddings, flowers and life as a business owner. We’ve also collaborated on a beautiful and romantic styled shoot, inspired by her show-stopping floral Moongate of gorgeous seasonal Summer florals, including the prettiest coral Peonies, Roses and Larkspur, to name a few. Johanna specialises in weddings and has over 20 years experience of working with couples around the world, creating bouquets and floral designs. I absolutely adore her style, which is “beautiful, elegant and romantic and always made with lots of love.” Johanna is also super friendly and always works with beautiful, premium quality flowers.

Johanna is an expert in weaving flowers into your big day, “to enhance the ambience and atmosphere of your celebrations through fragrance, style and colour.” She’s also a total whizz at creating an abundant look with foliage and delicate blooms. So I’ve invited Johanna to walk me through her easy 3 step booking process and Top Tips, to give you the low down on booking Johanna as your wedding florist.
Step 1
Firstly, we like to listen to your ideas and get an understanding of your floral vision and budget. We can speak over the phone, or via Google Meet in the first instance, so that we can get to know one another. It is your Wedding day and so it’s important that you find a florist whose style you love, who you enjoy working with, and who matches your budget. These are the essential ingredients to ensure an enjoyable and stress free wedding flower planning process – from initial booking to delivery…and the final WOW factor on the day!
Step 2
The next step is to meet for a free ‘face to face’ consultation. Here we discuss your flowers in more detail. We can talk through the various options for your wedding day online, via Google Meet. Taking your ideas, fabric samples and photos, we can share inspiration and provide our recommendations. After this meeting, we will then send you a detailed initial proposal, which includes all our prices and services.
Step 3
Every Wedding is different and just like the flowers we work with, no two couples are the same. We love the variety of our work and enjoy being able to create flowers that are unique for each of our couples.
Booking Johanna Pedrick Flowers is the final step in the process and we would normally recommend that you start talking to your florist around one year in advance. However, for 2021 weddings, we recommend that couples get in touch over a year in advance, in order to secure their date with us, due to the high number of wedding postponements moving to next year. When you book, we take a booking fee to secure your Wedding date and this booking fee is taken off your final balance payment.

Johanna Pedrick Flowers top tips
Flower prices are not all the same so it’s important that we know your budget at the beginning of the design process. This helps us to best advise you on the most suitable designs and potential ways to re-purpose your flowers from your Ceremony to your Wedding Breakfast – making your flowers go further!
We would always recommend using your budget to create one or two large floral designs for maximum impact, to create a statement, rather than lots of smaller ones. This is what will make your guests say Wow as they walk into your Ceremony and Reception room.
In our experience, it’s best not to skimp on your bouquet. It is your main floral accessory on the day after all! So if you adore those fragrant Garden roses, they will cost a bit more, but the beauty and joy that they will give you on the day is something that you will remember forever.

We always recommend using flowers that are in season because they are always at their very best and fully embrace the season that you’re marrying in. As a professional florist with many years of experience, we can advise you on the most beautiful seasonal blooms for your wedding day and any particular challenges to consider when choosing your flowers.
At Johanna Pedrick Flowers all our weddings are bespoke. Your wedding is important to us, which is why we only commit to delivering only one Wedding per day, and working exclusively with you on your big day.
We are involved at every step of your booking process, from your initial enquiry, consultation and right through to personally delivering your wedding flowers and arrangements on the morning of your Wedding. We also work closely with a team of carefully selected freelance florists who work to the same high standards. They help with the larger onsite floral installations and events with particular venue restrictions, or tight time frames.
