Modern Orangery Wedding Photo Shoot at the Holland Park Orangery, London

Six months ago today, I took the plunge and organised my first Photo Shoot. The location was the beautiful light and airy Holland Park Orangery in London. The inspiration came from my Caribbean heritage and love of Orangeries and Glasshouses; the perfect way to get my tropical fix – even in the midst of winter!
The vision was to create a tropical destination wedding in the city; bringing the warmth and scents of the tropics to London – whatever the weather. Indeed, Orangery and Glasshouses are super trendy venues for weddings right now. This is because they are often a far more accessible option for couples, where finances or aged family members make it difficult to have that destination wedding! Today, I wanted to share the images from the Holland Park Orangery Wedding photo shoot with you.
London’s Holland Park Orangery is a stunning Victorian building. Originally built to protect citrus trees from the winter weather, which made the perfect backdrop for this photo shoot. The traditional, tall arched windows on three sides of the building and the mirrored back wall create a beautiful bright and airy space, which works well for both contemporary and traditionally styled weddings. Set amongst the lovely walled gardens of Holland Park, complete with sub-tropical plants, the venue provided great photo opportunities outside too (even if it was November)!
The Palm + Gold theme of this shoot offers a ‘Plantation Chic’ style concept, which takes the tropical theme trend in an entirely different direction; featuring muted tones, beautiful tropical foliage, bare wood, white and touches of antique gold. The theme was born out of my contemporary Coco Palm Invitation Suite, which features faded palm fronds and contemporary gold geometric details.

Armed with a dream team of superbly talented vendors and featuring creative styling by Always Andri Wedding Design and beautiful images from Amanda Karen Photography, all the gorgeous details just unfolded from there. The bare, dark wood tables with white metal chairs, apothecary bottles and glass curiosities with copious amounts of tropical foliage and touches of antique gold, set within the stunning backdrop of the Holland Park Orangery, reflects the concept perfectly.
The reception stationery elements of the shoot coordinate with my Coco Palm Staitonery suite and included Table Number, Menu, Place cards, Escort Card Seating Plan and signs.
